WHo will win?

Sundays in Madrid are special.

They´re usually sunny, with Madrid being the sunniest capital in Europe (with an average of 350 clear days in a year). So the title Sunday really stands.

Families stroll together through the city center, and friends gather. Often, they´ll meet in a bar at midday to drink a cup of vermouth before lunch.

But, yesterday was not a regular Sunday in Spain.

If you walked the streets, you´d notice there were even more people than usual.

Yesterday was election day.

Not presidential, but regional. Elections to choose the mayors of the town and of the region or state, in all of Spain.

As happens with many artists, I´m very uninvolved with politics. I did vote, in case you´re wondering.

Politics are tricky. They divide people more than soccer teams.

If you defend one way of living, of making things happen, does it mean that no other form is valid? Politicians often take great care in making us believe so, left, center, and right.

And they should, if they want to receive your vote. Nobody wants to vote for someone who doesn´t sound convincing about their way being the best.

Not in politics, nor in anything.

Well, almost anything.

Artists will seldom make you believe they’re the best at anything.

There is no best painter, no best pianist, no best filmmaker. They´re all just different.

Perhaps politics have something to learn from artists, instead of having them in the least of their priorities… generally speaking.

On another note, my Bach album has received almost 50,000 streams in just one week since it was published.

This might not necessarily seem too much of a deal for you, but let me say that these numbers, unless you´re a classical superstar, are very very very seldom found in classical music. So I´m happy.

You can listen to this album for free streaming in your platform of choice here: BACH on Bandoneon

I´ll start my week with music. And I, for one, will work hard to make sure that my life´s well-being doesn´t depend on any politician.

I wish you a great start to the week!

Claudio.
