Will Artificial Intelligence ruin art & creativity?

Short answer:

No.

That´s my standpoint.

Radio didn´t kill concerts.

Cassettes and CDs didn´t kill the radio.

Streaming didn´t kill music (though it might´ve killed CDs…)

New technologies come all the time. But artificial intelligence is potent, and it´s just beginning to have an effect on society. It will most likely alter the behavior of humans forever, just like the internet and smartphones have.

But as long as we´re humans, we will still need human experiences. True, our consumer habits and preferences might change, but we will never cease to be human.

That´s why so many new trends involve appreciation for things more akin to lifestyles from the past: vinyl albums, lo-fi sound, vintage clothing, slow cooking, moving to the countryside… We crave feeling human and connecting with things unique to the human experience.

AI (artificial intelligence) will take over many jobs.

Just like in the Industrial Revolution, and throughout all of human existence, new technologies have successfully taken over several human tasks, especially the most repetitive ones with lesser human “purpose”.

Call me crazy, but I don´t see it that bad at all. Maybe we all need to concnerate on more creative and fulfilling tasks in which to spend our time.

Because time, after all, is the most precious thing we will ever have.

Have a nice day.

Claudio.
