What I Didn’t Know About Being a Musician

When I decided to become a musician, I thought my focus would solely be on creating and performing music.

What I didn’t realize was that being a musician also means wearing countless other hats.

Beyond composing, practicing, and playing, I’ve had to learn how to design album covers, write press releases, negotiate contracts, manage social media, keep track of finances, manage contracts, etc.

In many ways, being a musician today feels like running a small business, where the “product” is deeply personal and emotionally charged.

Balancing these roles can be overwhelming, but it’s also been empowering. Each skill I’ve picked up along the way has allowed me to take control of my career and connect with audiences in ways I never imagined.

Even though it’s a lot to juggle, I find, surprisingly, enough ways to practice and fit it all in.

It’s not always easy, but the process has taught me resilience, creativity, and how to make every moment count.

These extra layers of effort make every note I play even more meaningful—because they represent not only the art but the journey it took to bring it into the world.

Here is a playlist with a compilation of some of my works. Listen here.

Enjoy, and have a great day,

Claudio.
