The unexpected occurred.

Turns out my 5-year-old daughter really really really wanted to go to the beach.

So we decided to take a few days off and head towards the beach, booking last minute on a resort in the Catalonian coasts of Spain.

Turns out she went once to the hotel´s very own private beach, and decided that she liked the pool better. I´ve never in my life spent so much time in a pool.

Forcefully of course, since she wouldn´t want to go out, not even to eat…

Tomorrow we have to leave since there was no more availability, and she cried so hard that my heart broke into a million pieces.

So, we booked another hotel for a few more days. This time close to home, in Toledo, just a little less than an hour’s ride to Madrid. And most importantly, it has a beautiful pool where we expect to be spending all day long playing with her.

That´s a really huge contrast to our normal life, working all day every single day, non-stop. No pools, no vacations, no social gatherings, no friends… nothing.

As a matter of fact, I can´t even remember when was the last time I was at a pool or a beach. Surely years ago, even before the pandemic.

I won´t lie to you, I really do prefer being at home, working on music. There´s just nothing better to do with my life…

BUT, seeing my daughter enjoy the way she did these few days has been one of the happiest experiences in my whole life and I will treasure it forever.

From now on, vacations are not a choice, they´re mandatory.

Not because I enjoy taking a break from my profession, but because my daughters’ happiness is the most important thing in my life.

Have a great day,

Claudio.
