Ugly but Beautiful

Beauty and ugliness can be found everywhere, I guess.

A rainy day can be awful and unbearable, but at the same time romantic and refreshing for someone else.

But some sort of beauty can better be appreciated when you don´t have it anymore, or when you´re far from it.

Like for example, an unfortunate situation that you experienced together with someone close to you in the past, someone you love. You might look at it now in the distance as something beautiful and nostalgic.

There are some things that I remember from my past that at the moment I really couldn´t completely appreciate, that I didnñt like, or that I might have even despised.

But from a distant place and time, I could eventually find beauty in them.

There is something about my first album, a special detail about it, that represents that constant search for beauty that has characterized my main artistic pursuit.

That´s ironic since I´m actually opposed to the statement that art must be beautiful.

To me, art represents how human nature experiences life and the world around him, and this is surely not always beautiful.

But in the end, it´s all those pieces, pretty and ugly, that make up the picture we have of this world. And to me, the sum of it is beautiful.

Anyways, I´ve taped a short 3-minute video where I explain to you this detail from the album, which has t do with its very special and beautiful cover.

I wish you a beautiful day.

Claudio.

P.D. I don´t think I´ve ever used the word beautiful as much as in this mail…
