Today: a small gift
Hello dear readers. Today I´m offering a small gift that will be particularly useful to those of you who can read music and play an instrument.
But if you can´t read music, you can still listen to the audio on the link I´ll share with you in a moment, and enjoy it.
So, let me explain:
Autumn is upon us, at least up here in the Northern Hemisphere of the world.
In any case, that´s just an excuse. An excuse to share a small piece of music that I had lots of fun doing and playing.
You see, fusion between cultures and genres has always been a fascinating subject for me since I myself have a very diverse cultural background. Part of my ancestors came from Italy, others from Spain, and others from different places in Peru (including the Amazon jungle!). And I´ve always played and enjoyed music from diverse cultural backgrounds.
As an artist, it´s essential to learn and explore all sorts of mixtures that have influenced the shape of music and art throughout history.
And in this spirit, I´ve done many experiments. Like for example, turning jazz standards into miniature baroque pieces.
One such piece is the famous (and beautiful) song called Autumn Leaves, or in it´s original French title: Les Feuilles Mortes.
I´ve done an arrangement of it as if it were a two-part invention by Bach, and every time I´ve posted it on social media, people have loved it.
The score is for sale on my website, but today I´m sharing it with you for free, exclusively for newsletter subscribers. The full audio of this piece is also included on the link.
Enjoy it.
And, as always, have a great day!
Claudio.
