This is it.

The art of living is more like wrestling than dancing…

…because an artful life requires being prepared to meet and withstand sudden and unexpected attacks (not actually my words, but those of Marcus Aurelius).

I hate talking about the following thing, but it simply is relevant to understand this story: the damn pandemic.

It´s such a tiresome subject, we´ve heard so much from it, and it´s caused us so much damage. But some of us also got the opportunity to discover new things.

Before the pandemic, I had an astounding amount of concert activity. I was traveling practically every week, something that I loved to do but it was also exhausting and taking away valuable time from my family, something which I could not recover.

The pandemic hit in 2020 and all of my and my wife´s income came to a halt for one full year. After March 2020, I gave no concerts until 2021. They were all either “postponed” or canceled. It was rough.

But among many positive things (like recovering some very precious family time), I started fully discovering the wonders of the internet.

Yes, I believe the internet, just like anything, can be as wonderful or as awful as you want it to be.

In my case, I tend to always lean toward the positive side of things. Or I try, at the very least.

The internet has allowed me to share my art with many more people around the world than just concerts would. After all, even when I play live and fill a 2000-seat hall, it´s still much less audience than for any single video I put out on the internet, some of them going into the millions of views.

They both offer different user experiences, I know that.

But also, many of you wouldn´t even know what a bandoneon is or what it´s capable of doing if it wasn´t for those videos. Some of you might even consider going to a bandoneon concert or buying a bandoneon album from a musician who plays it. Or even playing the bandoneon, who knows…

Well, tomorrow is the day I open up my membership.

It`s called The Music Laboratory.

In it, you´ll receive one studio-quality album every month, either physical or digital depending on the plan you choose (although digital files will also be available to those who go for physical).

These albums will not be published anywhere else. They will be available exclusively for members.

You´ll also get personal weekly spoken audios from me where I´ll tell you my some personal things plus my thoughts on the process including the music I choose to record and their particularities, history, background, etc. These audios are meant for inspiration, similar to this newsletter but with more concise information directed towards your knowledge and enjoyment of music.

You´ll get monthly album recommendations and reviews from me.

And also, once a month, you can send me your questions about anything. I mean, anything. I´ll select as many interesting questions as possible and make a video answering all of them.

At the end of this video, I´ll perform a couple of pieces from the monthly album. So it will be like a mini-concert just for you.

You´ll have this plus more things which I explain in the following link, where you can already subscribe to your plan of preference (Music Laboratory for 29.95€ or Music Laboratory Plus+ for 49.95€). The content will begin to be posted from Saturday 2nd of September onwards.

This is a unique and novel way of going into the mind of an artist in front-row seats, xeploring his mind and getting to know his body of work in the most intimate way possible.

Anyways, in the link I´ll tell you more, which I´m very excited for you to read. Of course, you won´t be forced to buy anything if you click on the link. Worst case scenario: you´ll get some very interesting stories and insight, without even buying!

Have a great day!

P.D. Very excited :)

P.D.D. I´ll be revealing the work plan to you in the next e-mail :)
