The Sound of Flow

Some weeks ago, I went to the cinema with my wife and daughter to watch an animated film called Flow.

I walked in expecting a beautiful film.

I walked out with something else—something I couldn’t quite name at the time. A feeling that lingered, like an echo of a thought I hadn’t finished thinking.

It’s rare for a film to say so much while saying so little. There were no words, just images, movement, and sound. And yet, it spoke—about solitude and companionship, about life drifting forward with or without us, about the weight of time and the lightness of letting go. It made me reflect on how much of our existence is shaped by the currents we choose to follow, or the ones we struggle against.

Somewhere between those moments of silence and motion, I felt something I knew I had to translate into music. That’s how Flow was born. It’s a simple piece—just three chords carrying the entire journey. But in that simplicity, I found everything I wanted to say.

Flow has been released today on all platforms. I don’t know if it will move you the way the film moved me, but I hope, in some way, it finds its way to you. Listen to it here.

Sometimes, the things that stay with us the longest are the ones that don’t need to be explained.

Have a nice day,

Claudio.

P.D. Flow, the movie, went on to win an Oscar a few days ago, a historic feat in many ways.
