Stage fright

It´s a serious problem.

I feel very fortunate not to have had to deal with it for the most part. I´m always very excited to perform and I don´t fear mistakes on stage, they will always be there because a note-perfect performance almost never happens.

These words from master violinist Hilary Hahn seem very appropriate to me:

“I was taught from a very early age that performing is like giving a gift to the audience, and at the end, they thank you with their applause.

I´ve always had that idea in mind.

And you know, when I performed, always from my first performance, I always loved the feeling of freedom because no one was going to stop me and correct me.

No matter what I did in the performance, I would get to play it all the way through, and I think having those positive associations from early childhood has really helped me.”

I firmly believe that positive reinforcement goes a long way. That´s why I try as much as possible to surround myself with an environment that favors positive thought and healthy habits.

The more space that takes, the less space there´s left for potentially disruptive elements, such as stage fright.

Have a great day!

Claudio.
