Silence doesn´t exist.

Due to the fact that sound is a vibration passing through a medium such as gas, liquid, or a solid, there is no place on earth that is actually silent.

The only place representing true silence is space, since space is a vacuum without a medium through which sound can pass.

In music, we say that we need silence in order to listen to it and appreciate it.

Silence is like the canvas where musicians “paint” their sounds.

But, if silence indeed doesn´t exist, then we´re sort of painting on top of a “dirty” canvas, aren´t we?

Whatever the case, I wrote a piece inspired by silence, and by hope. It´s called Silent Hope. And it´s not silent… Here it is.
