Romancing a girl
“I gave it up because I found it impossible to romance a girl while wearing an accordion.”
Immortal words by Donald Passman.
I have to agree that accordions, and bandoneons for that matter, aren´t the sexiest of instruments.
They have a strident sound, at times annoying.
Even for me.
But, when they´re played well... few things are as beautiful.
Today, I´ve included at the top of my Playlist what I believe to be one of the most beautiful pieces for bandoneon or accordion ever written: Oblivion by Astor Piazzolla, played by the master himself and accompanied by a set of lush strings to add to the romantic dramatist.
Enjoy, and have a great day.
Claudio.
