Parisian feel
When I studied in Paris, I used to get lost walking through its vivid streets. No google maps nor smartphones back then.
Every now and then, while walking, I would approach the sweet sound of a street accordionist.
French love songs, waltzes and polkas; their repertoire consisted mostly of these type of evocative pieces.
Fast forward to nowadays, and something strange happens to me every once in a while.
For some weird reason, whenever I play Chopin’s music on my bandoneon, I’m reminded of that same evocative atmosphere I felt in Paris while I heard those street musicians.
There’s something about mixing Chopin’s music with the bandoneon that makes it sound like French music. Don’t ask me why.

Isn´t that something?
I guess the mixture of elegant salon music is usually linked with fancy cosmopolitan cities, like Paris. And the bandoneon sounds close enough to an accordion. That might be the best explanation.
I could also point out an important detail: Chopin lived in Paris for a vast amount of time, and he was deeply influenced by French salon music.
Paris has always been one of my favorite cities in the world. In fact, I have two favorite cities, and Paris is one of them.
The other one, well… maybe I’ll tell a story about that one some other time and you’ll find out.
In the meantime, I’ll dream of Paris and keep on evoking its fancy music-filled streets.
Have a great day.
Claudio.
