The bandoneon is a tricky instrument to learn.

And to find.

My inbox is constantly full of messages with information requests about where can it be bought, what system it uses, where can a teacher be found, what the price range is… etc.

I also get this question a lot: where can you find repertoire written for this instrument?

Well, that´s tricky.

Few composers have written music specifically for it. It´s terribly hard to comprehend how to write for it if you can´t play it.

(sometimes even when you can play it…)

When reality kicks in and 99,9 percent of people with an initial interest drop out of their bandoneon quest because of its many complexities, the only thing left is to enjoy listening to music in this amazing instrumnt.
