No blossoms in October

Earlier this year, I composed and released a piano solo triptych called Pocket Piano vol.5.

Out of those three pieces, I´m particularly fond of the second one, Sakura, because my daughter loves dancing to it and also because one of my cats is called Sakura.

But as most of you know, Sakura is also the time of blossoming flowers in Japan, a happy period in springtime (around April) which the Japanese population looks forward to very much. The joyous tone of my piece is inspired by this beautiful gift from nature.

A few weeks ago, I reimagined Sakura as a fantasy atmospheric piece including my other instrument, the bandoneon.

What came out of it is a “sister” piece called Cherry Blossom.

To my understanding, there are no cherry blossoms anywhere in the world during October.

So let this be the first one.

Enjoy, and have a great day.
