New Album Available

15 years ago, I studied in Paris for one year.

I was doing the Diplome de Concert in piano performance at the Schola Cantorum, near the Sorbonne, the Pantheon, and the Jardin de Luxembourg. I was receiving my lessons in the room where Cesar Franck´s organ lay and where he composed some of his beautiful music.

It was an extremely inspiring moment in my life which I treasure to this day.

At the same time, I was leading a “double life” in the sense that I also played bandoneon, but I was playing totally different type of music with it.

At the piano, I was playing Chopin, Beethoven, Prokofiev, Bach… all the great classics.

On the bandoneon, I was playing tango and other popular music.

And I was deeply inspired by French popular music, especially the musette and valse. It was a simpler but highly enjoyable musical facet and in that spirit, I wrote many short pieces with a French accent. Mostly waltzes.

15 years later, 2024, I decided to record and release an album with a selection of 16 of those pieces. I named the album “An Imaginary Soundtrack” since they remind me a little bit of Yann Thiersen and his fabulous music for the film “Amèlie”.

This has been my most successful album so far with almost 3 million streams on Spotify alone, so I decided to release a physical CD album of it.

This physical CD album is now available!

It´s beautifully printed and will probably make a nice addition to your CD collection, so if you want to, you can order your copy here so that it reaches you before Christmas :)

Have a nice day,

Claudio.
