He never saw it coming
300 years ago while improvising on his organ, Johann Sebastian Bach came up with an extraordinary piece of music. So dramatic and unstructured that many people still question its authorship. But no doubt, it´s by JSB.
However, after writing it I don´t think he could´ve envisioned the following three things:
1) That this piece would become one of the most (if not the most) famous work in music history.
2) That the bandoneon would be invented.
3) That a crazy bandoneonist would learn to play this piece, and record it.
I´ve just released the official video of my perofrmance of Bach´s Toccata in d minor, bwv.565, on bandoneon.
And you can watch it immediately right here.
Let´s see if such a dramatic beginning can get you fueled up on your hopefully pleasant Monday morning.
Have a great week!
Claudio.
