La Joie de Vivre

Every Child is an artist.

The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.

Those are not my words, they are from Pablo Picasso.

When I visited his home in Antibes, France, and saw the space where he works (now a museum), I was astonished.

To be honest, I hadn´t been a fan of Picasso before. Not that I disliked him, I simply hadn´t paid attention to his work.

That would change forever when I saw La Joie de Vivre, the centaurs, the goats, the birds… all up close. It was magical. A new universe was opened up before my eyes.

Is art linked to innocence? Childhood certainly is. I think that looking at the world through innocent eyes makes it more artful, in a way. Picasso had that very clear.

Pocket Piano is an attempt to look at the world through the eyes of innocence… translated into music.

Have a great week.

Claudio.
