Intergalactic challenge
The music of the film Interstellar was composed by Hans Zimmer, who collaborated closely with director Christopher Nolan to create an emotional, immersive score.
The story behind the music is unique in that Nolan gave Zimmer very little information about the film's plot initially, only sharing a one-page letter about the importance of a father-child relationship.
Zimmer composed a simple, intimate piece based on that theme, which eventually expanded into the grand, space-faring soundscape the film is known for.
The score prominently features the organ, inspired by the sense of human spirituality and vastness, and was recorded at London’s Temple Church, enhancing the film’s emotional depth and otherworldly atmosphere.
Today, I attempted to play the Cornfield Chase theme from Interstellar but in a very challenging way: on bandoneon and piano at the same time.
You can watch this 30 second clip here: Interstellar on piano and bandoneon.
Enjoy, and have a great day.
