How to compose honestly
It took me many years of trying, failing, and failing again…
…until finally, I realized it.
I didn´t have to compose complicated symphonies to impress other musicians. I just had to write simple, beautiful music that came straight out of my heart.
The moment I did that, my music finally started connecting with others.
Years of trial and error taught me that music is not about impressing, but about connecting.
Music is that quiet resonance of a melody that feels like home.
It´s where joy and sorrow flow as one.
It´s the sanctuary where the world fades, and we find ourselves whole again.
When I stopped chasing complexity and let my heart lead, I finally found my own voice in music. Now, it´s often much “simpler” than it used to be, but nothing is really quite that simple, is it?
Today I´ve released Kuura, a composition inspired by my experience living the cold winters in Finland so many years ago. More about that in another post. For now, click here to listen to it.
Enjoy, and have a great day.
Claudio.
