How Letting Go Changed Everything
I used to compose differently.
Every piece started with a structure, carefully thought out. The layers had to be solid before I allowed emotion to shape them. It felt like the right way—like control was necessary to create something meaningful.
But then, one day, I let go.
Instead of planning, I followed instinct. Instead of shaping the music, I let the music shape itself.
What came out was a simple, unpolished piece. I didn’t think much of it at first. It felt almost incomplete, too raw, too effortless.
But then, something happened.
Months after releasing it, this small, unassuming piece had gathered over half a million streams. And I realized something important:
People don’t connect with perfection.
They connect with something real.
There’s something about pure, unaltered feeling that resonates—maybe because it’s honest, maybe because we recognize a part of ourselves in it.
This experience changed the way I create music, and, in many ways, the way I see life.
Maybe the most meaningful things don’t come from control.
Maybe they come from trust.
Letting go, and seeing where the melody leads.
Listen to this piece, Softly, here.
Have a nice day,
Claudio.
