This is how I got hit.

“One good thing about music:

when it hits you, you feel no pain.”

I got “hit” by music in an odd way. I was born into a family of musicians; both of my parents were active professionals in music, specifically Classical music.

But they didn´t force me to study music. In fact, I had no interest in it whatsoever. Until one day shortly before turning 13.

It was an autumnal afternoon. I was in the living room accompanying my younger brother and sister who were watching some cartoons. Tom and Jerry were on.

Suddenly, I started recognizing the music playing in the cartoon´s soundtrack. They were versions of well-known classical pieces that either my father played at the piano or my mother conducted at any of her concerts in front of an orchestra.

I was captivated and curious to know what music that was, so I asked my mother. She told me the titles of every piece one by one.

I searched through their vinyl collection and started listening to them, as well as to every vinyl they had.

Music had “hit” me.

Ever since then, I´ve dedicated my entire life to playing and learning as much as I can about music.

The quote at the beginning is from Bob Marley, by the way.

Have a great day,

Claudio.
