In the Forests... hope was found.
When I used to live in Finland, there was a natural phenomenon that I particularly loved.
It was around mid-spring when forests suddenly became full of little white flowers. The name of those flowers is Kielo.
They are Finland’s national flower.
Some people say they symbolize the ending of harsh times and embracing a new period of life. Makes sense.
Finnish winters are awful.
Well, in some ways at least. Because they’re actually beautiful.
But enduring the harsh cold for so long is not for the fainthearted. Especially if, like me, you had never seen snow in your life before going there. I was 18.
So these little flowers always brought me fascination and hope.
I´ve included a little piece called Kielo in my Piano Inspiration playlist. It summarizes, in music, that feeling of tranquility and optimism that I felt while walking through those endless Finnish forests.
You can hear it here: Piano Inspiration Playlist.
You can also hit the follow button to the list so you don’t miss its daily updates. Only beautiful piano music is added every day.
I hope you enjoy it. Have a great week!
Claudio.
