Fusion is inevitable. Everything comes out of fusion. The creation of life itself is a fusion of elements.

Music is no different.

Jazz was born out of a fusion of cultures.

Tango was too.

Classical music was based on combining elements from the rich musical heritage found in several different countries and putting it into a context conceptualized as Western Music. In this context, a series of parameters were set so that inside those parameters composers would find the means and the creativity to put out masterworks.

Today I´m performing a recital at the Juan March Foundation in Madrid, a wonderful venue that brings and makes culture accessible to all public right in the heart of the city. The program features an eclectic mix of composers from the American continent, North and South, who have had fusion as a prime element for their compositions. I´m truly excited to perform it!
