Eva´s ancestors
Eva had always dreamed of exploring the rolling hills and vibrant vineyards where her grandparents had raised their children.
As her train wound its way through the lush landscapes of the Italian countryside, she felt a thrill of independence. Her tiny studio in New York now felt like part of a distant dream.
This solo journey was a leap into the unknown, filled with ancient olive groves and quaint stone villages that whispered stories of a time long past, holding memories that somehow she felt part of.
Stepping off the train in a small town, Eva wandered through cobblestone streets, savoring the aroma of fresh bread and the sounds of chatter. She stumbled upon a tiny café, where the owner, a kind old man, welcomed her like family.
Over a steaming cup of cappuccino, he shared tales of his youth, igniting Eva's imagination and deepening her connection to this enchanting land. She wondered if her grandfather would´ve looked any similar to this charming old man.
As dusk settled, Eva found herself atop a hill, overlooking a sunset that painted the sky in hues of orange and pink. The beauty of the moment brought tears to her eyes; she realized she was not alone but part of a world brimming with wonder. This journey, with its unexpected friendships and breathtaking vistas, was only the beginning of her grand adventure.
This fictitious story came to my mind as I was composing a piece of the same name: Eva.
Art takes us to places that don´t exist. Doesn´t it seem to you that imagination takes you to places just like this one, that somehow feels more real than reality itself?
It´s the power of abstraction from our minds that makes us create the greatest things.
It´s our great gift.
Eva is out now on all streaming platforms. I wonder what story will it inspire in your mind and if it´s any similar to mine at all.
Enjoy, and have a great day!
Claudio.
