Back home

Everything ends, I guess—even the universe.

We´re back home after spending two weeks in Mallorca, a gem of the Mediterranean—just the three of us, my wife, my daughter and I.

We rented a lovely country home, surrounded by the sound of sheep, chickens, and hens. Plenty of cats around visiting us as well. A beautiful pool to refresh ourselves from the sun. Paradisiac beaches are only a 10-minute drive away.

That was our reality for a while, we got used to it and it became our normal life. The late evening walks around the countryside, the careless gaze upon beautiful fields spreading for miles, the necks sore from watching stars in the uncontaminated sky.

Now, back in Madrid, one of the most beautiful cities I know of, life is different.

There are no sheep, no beaches, no evening walks through the dry earth and the olive trees.

But it´s also beautiful.

It´s just so amazing no matter how long or how accustomed you´ve gotten to a situation, once it changes and you´re in another one everything is so different and the recent past can feel like a distant memory, like a dream.

That´s why I so firmly believe we have to live every moment in the present.

In my experience, the more you hold on to living like in the past, the more you expect things to remain the same, the more you stick to your old ideas without the possibility of opening up, the more intoxicated of a life you´ll live.

This moment is unique, beautiful, and will never be repeated again.

I hope you are living a beautiful moment in your life right now, and if you aren´t, I hope for good moments to come to you soon.

Have a great day,

Claudio.
