30 Years is the Limit
I read this some days ago. Paraphrasing:
“People build up their musical choices up until they´re 30 years old. Afterward, they´re generally not open to expanding their musical knowledge and prefer to listen to the same tunes they´ve been used to listening to or very similar ones.”
That sounds alarming. But I can relate.
I´m much less open to new music than I remember from when I was in my twenties. Just a few genres, composers, performers, and bands are among my preferences, and rarely do I become a fan of a new discovery.
But I do force myself to listen to new music. I try doing it every day. Knowing what´s going on is part of my business. And every now and then, I discover gems.
With this message, I´d like to urge you to defy statistics, and to discover new things on your own.
Not only in music but in all the arts. There are wonderful things out there and I assure you that every once in a while you´ll be blown away by that new discovery awaiting to enter into your life.
I´ll give you a way for you to start today, and by doing so, you´ll do good to yourself and you´ll be helping me. Or specifically, my algorithm.
You see, this coming Friday I´m releasing an EP with music for bandoneon and strings which honestly, I love (I know it´s probably wrong to say so about my own music…).
I´ve released most of the tracks as singles already, but there´s a special one waiting to be included in the pack, this Friday.
And now, Spotify has just introduced its own pre-save page. So, if you´re a Spotify user, and you´d like to help my Spotify algorithm, you´ll be doing me a favor by pre-saving this EP. By doing so, you´ll be able to listen to five of those tracks (hopefully some of them are new music to you) and you´ll also be notified on Friday and be amongst the very first ones to hear the new one for the first time.
Thanks, and have a nice day!
Claudio.
